    Hi

I have a Bosch dishwasher SGS5302/GB. It washes cold when it should be hot. ‘Dry’ seems to work suggesting that the PCB is at fault rather than element?
or could it be a blockage/limescale somewhere preventing water from coming into contact with element?
Reset lead to some odd behaviour temporarily, showing code 8?
We live in a hard water area and have, foolishly, used the machine every day for nearly a year without topping up salt.

How do you open these up to take a look inside?

Any help much appreciated, this machine was given to us and it has become invaluable.

    Re: Bosch dishwasher cold water

Burnt out relay joint on the computer board was an endemic problem on these some years ago. Most have been solved by now. Underfilling is the other regular problem – there is a diaphragm switch on the end of the heater box. If insufficient water is cirulated, it will not be activated and the machine will not heat. This problem is usually caused by the transfer pipe in the front left hand corner of the machine becoming choked with fatty deposits. It needs to be pulled out and cleaned thoroughly. A quick check is to allow the machine to fill and start circulating. Give it a minute and pop the door open – see if you have good circulation from the top rotor.

Power off before removing any panel.

    Thanks Penguin

I was hoping it might be a blockage, means the machine would still be in economically viable territory. Still having access trouble – how do I get down to that pipe, through the drain system inside (screws come out but nothing shifts – concerned about damaging any water seals) or from a panel outside?

    Many thanks

You can try shooting a long skinny bottle brush up the pipe from the front of the sump moulding. You will get better results by removing the door panel, kick board and inner lower cover plate.

    Power off, of course.
