ParticipantHi,
As always happens halfway through the family Easter meal the cooker (as it turned out) tripped the electricity. After 10 mins of panic power was re-established but…now the ventilated cooking element setting of the cooker does not work. All the grills and normal oven settings work (the normal oven does seem to take a long while to heat up but that could be linked to the above problem i assume).
I have (power off) remove the back plate of the oven and exposed the element that surrounds the fan. Is this the one that has ceased to function or is there another element that u have to access from the rear of the cooker.
If this is the offending element is it as simple as removing the screws holding it in place and installing a new one?
If so do u have the relevant part number and cost please? Thanks

Probably the fan oven element – unless there is visible damage, you’ll need a test meter to check resistance.
This is most informative:
http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … ge&pid=103The screw heads you can see are usually the end of studs – it’s probably retained by nuts from the rear.
P/no is 806890387 – an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for prices and ordering.
Needless to say, power off before touching anything.

Hi,
17 months on same problem again???Everthing works fine except the ventilated heating element.
Taken the cover off front and back (power off) can’t see any obvious sign the element has failed?
Is there any ‘fuse’ type arrangement that could have blown.
Smeg came out under warrenty last time and changed the element but he did have a fiddle round the back after replacing it as it still didn’t work first time. Many Thanks

Fan oven elements live short violent lives….. Resistance check will confirm whether or not the element has a circuit or not.
Power off first.
