ParticipantGiven that Samsungs (our current fridge/freezer) are piles of junk and no-one will touch them with a barge-pole, what is the best make to replace it with?
I mean, what will still be fixable in five years time?
Thanks

Hi
Sorry to answer a question with lots of questions but………..are you looking for the American side by side style or the usual fridge on top and freezer underneath arrangement? What physical size? Is there any colour option preferred?
Answers to these will hopefully point us in the right direction for you 😉

I am looking to buy a fridge/freezer, probably at the ned of the year. Actually, I will be looking a new kitchen fiited, except for my freestanding bosch dishwasher.
Back to the cooler thread, I was thinking of the Bosch american style fridge/freezer. Then, I was encouraged to buy from a local independent the GE american fridge/freezer which has a 5 year warranty….but these are made in Mexico. Any advise, or even options? Maximum budget would be £1500. in Belfast??? The bigger the capacity, the better….
Will post query about other items on the appropriate forumsApril 14, 2007 at 7:20 pm #210359kwatt

Ideally something that has the same features as our current Samsung SRL3928B
same size etcOur current one runs too cold and will cost too much to fix it.
LG do fridge/freezer with similar freatures. I need to know if that will be another £88-just-to-open-my-toolbox affair in five years time as wellYes, I have just paid £88 to a Samsung appoved engineer to be told that it will cost over £200 to fix it!!

Hi
Everyone has their own preferences when it comes to sales and service, For all round build features and after sales service I like Bosch. Siemens and Hotpoint appliances. Looking at the spec of the Samsung you have I have found some machines that fall into the same category. Bosch KGN39V00GB, Siemens KG32U193GB. Both of these are from the same group and come with a two year guarantee and the interiors are uncluttered giving maximum storage space. The Hotpoint FF200T is a nice looking machine on the outside but the inside of the fridge is a little to cluttered for my liking, but the freezer baskets I do like. if I had to choose one then I would probably go the the Bosch.
Good hunting
