ParticipantThis must be “Bosch month” for me! I’ve done many years of Bosch washers and never had complex problems – until now!
This one is a WFO 2864GB/01
On any pgm it runs fine for about 2 mins approx, then just aborts and ends the pgm, except for spin cycles which it did OK.On my first visit I found the heater was damaged and, when hot, had low insulation resistance, so I changed it, and also the leaky door boot. All seemed fine for a brief spell, but now it is aborting the pgm exactly as before, except it now aborts all pgms including the spin cycle.
Motor action is fine, and brushes changed recently (and checked by me). Pressure system fine, not over or under filling.
It fills, agitates, carries on for around 2 mins, then just aborts, end of pgm light on. Same with spin, which seems to rule out a heater circuit fault.
Do the Bosch PCBs run fault checks like the AEG boards or not?
Any suggestions appreciated.
Mike

Did not replace the NTC as I did not have one to hand.
Re which light/s showing at end – I’ll check that with customer for current data – I’m trying to recall, but I think when I worked on it, it was a red end-of-pgm LED.
I’ll get back to you on that.Mike

The End / Ready light, in fault display mode indicates that the door is open after programme has started. From experience, this is usually the pcb. Part No:- 445554 £102.30 inc vat.

If the pcb is fine i would check that ntc for fault. Was the damaged seal causing water to leak around the ntc?
I had similar, damaged door seal and the wet ntc was causing the machine to abort cycle

More data from customer:
-She set machine on 40 degree wash (cottons), started it
-wash light on, correct pgm duration showing in display, all OK
-carried on OK for about one minute
-duration display went blank, machine pumped out
-display came up “0”. Wash light out. Door unlocks
-“0” still showing. No lights on.Does this shed any light?

Changing the NTC fixed the problem.
On close inspection one of the two NTC contacts had been contaminated with what looked like neat liquid detergent. Also the plug. I changed the NTC and scrubbed the plug in hot water, then dried it and dowsed it in WD40 (equivalent stuff). Then cleaned the contacts with a small emery board. As this is a low voltage connection, clean contacts are important.
Thanks for the feedback guys.
