Hotpoint Aquarius MWA40

    Hi need some advice the machine started to stop during its cycle after pulling it out to investigate it started again had this kind of thing before with our old hotpoint and it turned out to be needing new brushes this is where i looked and as the machine was running you could here a sound like electricity arcing and there is a lot of blue light showing where the brushes are so iam guessing thats the problem

    If it is can a novice fit new brushes any advice welcome

    I think you may mean a WMA40. Three different motors fitted to these machines, different brushes in all of them. Not as easy to remove as the earlier Hotpoint machines, also belt refitting requires a ( trick of the trade) 😉

    Be sure to remove the mains plug before you attempt to remove the motor.

    PS. Don’t keep trying it, the motor arcing can take out a £90 module in a second.
