    I think my GF has killed my fridge/freezer. We have an Iceline FF 47/32 (a google search finds very little on this). She cleverly decided to defrost the fridge by opening the door but not turning the power off.

    Now it doesn’t work. The pump comes on for a few seconds and then goes off, this repeats every few minutes. I’ve tried turning it off completely for about 48 hours but so far no luck.

    Is there anything I can do or is it time for a new fridge?

    Compressor is shorting out by the sounds of it, I’d almost guarantee that she’s burnt it out I’m afraid.

    Not really a viable repair these days if the machine is bog standard and over five years old.
