    Hi guys,

I have Fisher & Paykel Smart Drive 051 and 053 machines. 051 one wasn’t working properly (water was coming in just for 1-2secs, than it was cut off). We’ve tried changing valve, but the only solution worked was to change 051 front panel electronics for the 053 one. After a test washing it seems to be alright.

However, I don’t know the difference between 051 and 053, so I’m wondering if it will be working ok with the new brains?

I’ve tried searching, googling and wondering, but have not seen any manual on those anywhere. So if anyone has it as on a PC or can send me a link it will be appreciated.

    Thanks.

051 is a phase 2 computer, 053 is a phase 3. They’re not supposed to interchange, but if it works, enjoy.

    Thanks for the answer.

But, I am not quite know what the “phase 2 computer” means. Could you please describe it in few sentences or refer me to the doco?

The F+P machines were made in production “groups”. Phase 2 was 93-95, phase 3 was 95-96. All machines in phases 2, 3 and 4 share the same wiring schematics, so presumably any board in those groups will interchange. You can use the “Diagnostics” sticky at the top of the forum to see which actual model numbers fall into which phase.

Can’t tell you much more, really.
