Having problems with the above dishwasher in that it won’t drain. I’ve checked the drain hose and filter and the bottom tray is clear of any water.

Before I drag the machine out to investigate the drain pump, I would like to reset the machine’s computer (as I’ve read somewhere it is possible to do). I’ve used the search facility, but cannot find any information on this. Please could someone point me in the right direction. This is for a complete reset, not the simple one as explained in the manual.

    Thanks

Reset procedure is most unlikely to turn the pump back on.

Can you hear the drain pump running when you start a programme; or is there a very faint humming noise instead? If the latter, it will certainly be blocked and will need to be stripped out from underneath. Power off, of course.

If you put “Smeg AND reset” into the search facility for this forum only I’m sure there are a couple of references.

    Thanks for the response.

I’ve dragged the machine out and made sure the bottom tray is empty of water. I can see where the pumps are underneath, but for the life of me I cannot see how to remove the bottom tray to gain access to the pumps. I would have thought the tray would simply pull out, but it seems firmly secured. From underneath, I can see the thread ends of 4 screws, but there is no way of accessing the heads from between the bottom of the washer and the undertray.

I was shocked to find that an engineer wants £75 just to come and diagonose the fault. How does this tray come out so that I can DIY this problem and save a lot of money?

    Thanks again

The undertray is retained by two clips. There are two indents in the front chassis moulding, a fine flat screwdriver can be inserted and wiggled to release the clips from below.

Thanks very much, Jake, for your prompt and accurate replies. It was as you said; the drain pump had jammed. Once I’d learned the “secret” of removing the bottom tray, it was fairly simple to extract the pump.

The dishwasher is working well again. I’ve learned a lot whilst repairing it and I’ve saved a lot of money. My thanks to you again.

    Regards
    Raymond
