BlockedHi all 🙂
I have just upgraded my phone to a Nokia N95. I have to take 2 mins to shout about this phone!
It is absolutely supurb. Lots of applications, Instatnt internet acsess (Ideal to get prices of parts etc whilst on site if need to quote the cust there and then) and the best bit is built in SAT NAV which at first I thought wouldn’t be very good…… But…… It will compete with my TomTom 510 all day! I will now remove the tomtom from the van and have 1 less item to carry!
If anyone is due for an upgrade……. take 5mins to look at this phone…… 🙂

With the Nokia N95 (and maybe others,,, I’m not sure), You can connect to internet via customers modem providing they have a wireless router (I think most now are wireless) and I believe that is free as you are using a paid for acsess point. I hope I’m not wrong on this! 😯 As I may have a very expensive bill next month! 😯 Hehe!

I have a Nokia N73 that has internet access. You have to go through your phone providers network for access. Whilst there are now many people out there with wireless routers they should. :rolls: if they have any sense be password protected. I would ask a few questions before you do get a nasty surprise.

Hi Jim… 🙂
You are right, wireless networks are protected with a WEP key. I was just saying how handy (with the cust permission) this phone was for internet acsess and SAT nav. If the cust agrees, you have only got to tap in the WEP key into your phone (found on the router) and hey presto….. internet!

Na, Wireless Encryption Protocol and it’s been crackable for ages. No wireless network is “safe” other than one heavily protected. The best, cheapest option is to use a VPN in and ban all other network traffic and you can even spoof a MAC address too.
Not of course that I’d know anything about such things.

Washdoc, Did you have to buy additional GPS software or did it come complete, As I have checked the spec on the Orange site and it makes no mention of Satnav. Have read elsewhere that it is required.
Cheers Goose
