    Re: FP Smartdrive 085

The filling stage intermittently stops and starts in short spurts, then the machine stops and beeps. The water-intake solenoids seem fine. Everything else like agitating and pumping seems fine. If i manually fill the machine with a hose then i can continue to wash my clothes between beeps. Seems like a water level detection problem to me.

I understand that some people, like me, were never given the diagnostic codes, and F&P won’t tell us what they are, and the techos won’t tell us either so they can continue to overcharge us for repairs. Those without the codes desperately want them, some lucky people get emailed them, and excuses like copyright violation are a meaningless diversion intended to protect a trade secret. If i had the codes, i’d nail them to the castle door for all to see.

Having said that … does anybody know how to decipher my diagnostic codes?

Cold water solenoid is actually a good bet. If you’d like to do the diagnostics as per the sticky at the top of the forum I will certainly give you an answer.

As for your other comments, this is a site run by professional repairers in the UK. We do need to make a living, despite the good will the forums generate.

I will not publish the full list of codes. F+P seem to have no objection to us answering specific questions, but I have no intention of being assassinated by a Maori hit squad in the foreseeable future.

    Regards,
    Penguin45.
