kwatt wrote:The one manufacturer that springs to mind that is guilty on all counts is Miele, a brand that we all recommend almost unequivocally and that, I’m afraid, is just a disgrace. We don’t gain anything by helping them but disdain as we are apparently not good enough to either sell or repair the appliances. BSH aren’t exactly far behind and we all recommend them as well. Indesit, well, what can I say?
Now that brings up an idea (He’s off on one, they cry)…… Seeing as we’re in the comfy leather armchair which is the Mods forum, and part of our job is to guide and steer the site, I would suggest that we stop plugging Bosch and Miele…….. If we stick with the restictive practices theme, perhaps we should consider pushing Lux Group as the “better in the middle” brand and our new friends at Asko as the beesknees?
If we do it, we all have to play along to make it work. We know they all read on the site – a marked change of emphasis should get noticed.

BSH will give info willy nilly.
They will even supply wiring diagrams etc to public.
Ive seen the info thats been sent to joe and its pretty trade stuff.
Miele on the other hand are non existent in information release to non own engineers/partners.Greg

I think Ken thought “Poll” might be a bit too obvious…..
If BSH is so open, can we approach them and say “Give us everything you’ve got? We’re doing a book on it.”
Somehow, I suspect not.

Another idea, but obviously as I’m an interested party I can’t vote, how about putting Gorenje as the middle ground, I’m sure with abit of arm twisting I can get all the info we want for those that haven’t got access.

You are correct Chris, Bosch will give so much but not complete information like diagnostics etc. but they will give some information. I’d also wager that, if we asked for it, we’d get some crappy “safety” excuse and their own approved engineers or staff are the only ones suitable to work on their appliances.
If we compile a list and get contacts, preferably the MDs of each company, I will write to them all.
Ian you can vote, your opinion is as valued as anyone’s and just because you support A.N. Brand is your own affair for your own reasons.
I didn’t change the title.

Have we tried asking BSH for diagnostics?? We could prod BSH-MAN and see what gives 😕
