Can anyone tell me the best trade contacts for miele parts?

I want to price-up the circulating motor on D/W model G560. Not many in the trade seem to stock this make – Probably be an arm and a leg then 😥

    Thanks,
    Brian

You could ring Miele direct 01235 233133. They usually give 15{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} to trade customers.

They can afford to give that sort of discount, have you seen some of the prices for parts? And, expect no technical help whatsoever.

I’ve really gone off Miele over spares pricing and information lately.

I had to price up a motor for some poor guy a few weeks ago, five-seven year old washer needed a motor… £380 plus VAT… TRADE! Needless to say they customer isn’t going to be buying another Miele.

Rubbish! Unless you are one of their service agents you get zilch!

I’ve been wondering that myself lately, there’s absolutely no point in doing so, we’ve been acting like a press agency for Miele and I said recently (or words to the effect of) that since Miele are not prepared to support us, why should we support Miele?

TBH they’re just as bad as Indesit, they just don’t break down as often.

Funnily enough, I noticed the local radio station running ads for Miele dishwashing/laundry and vacuums today. Odd for a whitegoods maker/ importer to advertise direct, no?
Perhaps they feel a bit shy of market share…

Yes, you can end up selling the parts to the customer at trade price because it’s too embarassing to add a margin to an already well OTT price. I had such a situation this morning. Some weeks ago I had gone to a washer repair and was asked if I could also do anything about their faulty Miele dishwasher soap door catch. I explained that it would need a whole new dispenser but I would make enquiries. I emailed Washvac on their website enquiry setup. I can’t remember now if I just enquired on price/availability but I heard nothing until this week when the dispenser arrived, together with a bill for £97.30. As this was a special order I could not return the part so it was quite a relief when the customer agreed to pay this price. I’ve not made anything on the job but at least I’m not stuck with an expensive part I will never use.

    Re: MIELE PARTS

Being as Miele are something of a closed shop regarding tech specs and spare parts, it makes me wonder why anyone would even contemplate repairing them in the first place?

    Re: MIELE PARTS

i ordered a hose soap dispenser to tub, similair to an old hoover hose but with bigger ends. the customer asked how much it would be.
i thought hoover hose was about £5 so i said £30, when it arrived it was £75 i had to show the customer the invoice he didnt beleive me.
why do people on this site recommend them.

Because they’re very well built , top quality , reliable appliance.

Being expensive for spares and difficult to repair doesn’t take away from the fact that over the course of 15 years the person who buys the Miele will probably spend less (over all) than the person buying a lower budget machine (probably 2 or 3 of them).

Sure the likes of you and I will probably not get any work from it but I think that’s irrelevent if your making a genuine recommendation on a quality machine and I’d be happy to recommend Miele to my neighbours/relatives etc. in the knowledge that it’s a well respected make and been at the top of the tree for many years.

That’s my view but sure there’ll be plenty disagree 🙂

    Re: MIELE PARTS

I actually do agree with you Bryan and that’s exactly why we recommend them. What I’m hacked off about with Miele is that we give them all this support and, to an extent Bosch as well and what do we get in return for it?

Nadda. That is if you don’t count being treated like second class citizens.

    Re: MIELE PARTS

Every Miele machine has a circuit diagram sheet & parts list enclosed, a lot more technical info than is provided with other makes. Most of the work I do for Miele is warranty work so the price is not normally a problem, but they are good quality you can’t deny that. I had the pleasure of servicing a 28 y’old Miele machine last year. Lets hope the new ICE-10 is of similar quality. I’d like to be able to recommend a machine that would last.
