    Hi

The older style of jug kettles used to leak from the bottom of the water level guage. The newer ones have a guage which is moulded to the body which has solved the problem. The traditional style kettles very rarely leak.

Best brands? In stainless steel I would go for Philips and Dualit for a quality item or the Morphy Richards, Russell Hobbs and Kenwood. In coloured plastic all the above, just steer clear of brands you have not heard of as chances are they will just be far eastern imports.

    Thanks Don!

Yes, my friend said her one leak from the bottom at the back where the water guage was!…must be the older/traditional styles? Sorry getting confused..so you are saying older style leaks but traditional styles don’t leak?? What are the traditional style kettles compared to old style? Are they the big round ones?….sorry i have zero clue on these things… 😳

thanks – will have a look at those brands! 😀

    Hi GD

The “traditional” style of kettle round in shape like the Russell Hobbs 4101 which has been around for about thirty odd years very rarely leak, a good design which has stood the test of time.

Older style of jug kettles with water guage to the bottom like your`e friends were very prone to leaking. New style ones don`t 😉 .
