question for everyone?
is it just me or is everyone in the public forum messing with these machines, when basically they havent got a clue?
as we all know its recently got nasty over some things that have been posted, we’ve had pc fans with trailing wires, we’ve been accused of just generating income (which as we all know is rubbish),and now we got a guy whos unplugged a fan motor, and testing for voltage with the door open, and the thing running!
can we have some clarity as to what is deemed appropriate for future advice please?
i do sometimes worry if at times we’re doing the right thing.. im sure someone will clarify the situation, and make me look stupid, i just think people are becoming more adventurous, thats all

Yep we’ve had loads of people on that, basically, don’t want to pay for someone that can actually repair it. Probably because they’ve hunted about and found that the things appear to be riddled with problems (despite what Samsung say) and they decide to have a pop themselves.
So long as it stays within the guidelines there’s really not a problem.
Advocating the mad testing and home-brewed modifications is not on.
It’s just a case of applying common sense, we went through almost exactly the same thing with the Smeg “E2” fault a while back. 😕

It just seems that we’ve been highly indexed for these things and, let’s face it, there’s no shortage of loons out there. 😆

Totally agree with that- In order to save a few quid, some Jack the Lad who has no knowledge of how the units function think they can repair it themselves-using the correct parts or otherwise. Dont think they realise that this will often cause more issues with the unit and in turn cause more to repair. Whats worse is that they think its wise to advertise it on these boards. Sorry to be blunt but that is just stupid.

What I didnt mention before is that thankfully MOST of us have the sense to know if we are qualified to carry out these repairs ourselves and disregard the botch jobs done by those who are lets just say not the sharpest tool in the toolbox.
Just find it irratating when people are told by the mods or admins to quit posting duff information on repairs they plan to carry out or have carried out and refuse to acknowledge (sp?) that it is both unethical and potentially a safety hazard when they post this rubbish…think we all remember the PC fan incident????
