ParticipantThe answer to my last post was to get a new fridge freezer.
Easier said than done. My old Hotpoint 8633 fits snuggly under a cabinet, and i mean snuggly – there’s only a couple of mm to spare.
So, for the last 2 weeks i’ve been trawling the internet and local stores to find a f/f to fit the space. No luck yet.Is there a web site which lists every available make with height x width x depth info??
Is the perfect 134cm x 55cm x 60cm fridge freezer out there? Ideally split with a slightly larger freezer.

Hi
The 55cm width in refrigeration is getting scarse as everything nowadays is geared at 60cm width to get maximum storage. Couple that with the height you have available, machines that size just aint out there in choice any more. The nearest one I can find is the Bosch KDV20V00 which is 125 high, which has a top mount freezer not what you wanted I know, but you will need to compromise big style I`m afraid. The nearest size with freezer on the bottom would be the Whirlpool ARC5030 which is 139 high but it does give you a fifty fifty split.
So It`s either the Bosch type and don`t change units or its a makeover job and put a 60cm width machine in. The choice is endless around what is becoming the most popular height circa 180cm. Or fill the existing gap with a larder type unit and resite the fridge freezer to another locale.

Thanks Don
Is there a web page that lists all the fridge freezers with their sizes?
I’d like to see what options are available before re-modelling the utility room. Increased height may be easier than width!May 9, 2007 at 12:05 pm #213033don

Hi
The only way of checking sizes is via the manufacturers web sites or brochures individually. If you post up the maximum height you can go to I will have a look through my trade listings for you.

Try pricerunner or Comet websites, you can search by height, width, depth and a host of other features – the answer to my prayers trawling millions of sites! Make sure you double check the measurements on the manufacturers site too tho, a few of the capacities were wrong on ones I looked at. Good luck!
