Just got this call in – customer says he’s just moved in and inherited this machine, when he tries to programme the m/c the indicator goes round and round continuosly, this happens on all programmes.

I have had little experience with miele, but could this machine just want reprogramming because its been stood (if so how?) Or is it more sinister?

Going to see it tomorrow – would appreciate any advice on what could cause this.

    Brian.

W459 was last manufactured in 1983, its a pretty old one. I think there could be a faulty start switch on it, which is advancing the timer all the time.
W459’s made after that date will have a letter after them eg W459S or W459U etc

Thanks for the reply Seamy. At least i have something to go on.

You dont think it could be a faulty timer then? This did cross my mind, but these machine are built like ‘Challenger tanks’ or should i say ‘Tiger tanks’ and that includes the timer.

How many other pre 1983 machines are still around, let alone working, albeit faulty at the moment?

I will let you know what I find, I know this though! – i dont want to have to drag it in.
