Hi, great forum, I’ve been searching and reading through trying to work out why my (extremely cheap and cheerful) Hygena oven has stopped working properly 🙁
Type: Hygena GG60m
Model number: AHY 0142
Some other number: 050502079
When I switch it on the lights and fan both turn on, and a small ‘pilot’ flame is ignited. According to the manual it should start to reach maximum rate within 60 seconds. This never happens though and it stays on bare minimum rate and never reaches temperature.
I’ve left the oven for well over an hour and not had any success with the temperature getting up to the gas mark set.
Yep we have gas – the seperate hobs work fine.
The grill also works fine and ignites without a hitch.
The door is closed, and the switch seems to be working. I know this because if the door is closed when the grill is on, the gas is cut and the ignition starts. So I’ve ruled that out, since I’ve read the oven will not reach maximum rate with the door open for obvious reasons.
This happened a couple of times before but it seemed to sort itself out and go back to normal. Now it is a permanent feature and we can’t get it to work at all now 🙁
Any ideas greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Martin 🙂
