    Hi guys,

We have got a Tecnik cooker hood. It looks like a chimney hood with a tube build into the wall. But we are not sure where it goes. The metal grease filters are getting so dirty, and we don’t know where to buy the spare one. We are thinking to buy a new hood. But following are the questions:

1.How to identify what kind of hood we have got? What is the different between chimney hood and build-in hood? How to find out where the air goes?

    2. Can we get rid of the old one and install the new one by ourselves? Does it need special skill?

    3. If we ask someone else to install it, who do we need to speak to?

    Thanks!

    Hi fyz,

The metal filters can be cleaned in the dishwasher and it’s the best way to do it. 😉

If you really want replacements though they’re not cheap but Dave should be able to get them if you can get a model number off the rating plate on teh inside, an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will solve that.

The tube is the vent, as if installed correctly, this should carry the extracted air to the outside. There’s an article on the subject here that should explain a lot for you.

    K.
