ParticipantRight then, my currnet house has an MFI integrated fridge/freezer model APM6855 and the display is coming up with the symbol H and it does not seem to be that cold. The freezer seems fine.
I cant find a manual on the internet does anyone know what this H means and why the fridge seems warm?May 11, 2007 at 6:41 am #213277goooba769

This appliance has a ability to set the freezer temperature between -18C to -24C. The ‘H’ in the display is just indicating that the actual freezer temperature is above this – Hope that helps, if you need an instruction manual I will require the serial number as there are two versions of this model.

Any ideas why the fridge seems warmer than normal?May 11, 2007 at 6:07 pm #213280Dales-Electronic

Right lets take it a step further – The appliance is made by Antonio Merloni (an Italian Company) for MFI. It works in the following manner – there is no cooling in the fridge area, air is ducted from the freezer compartment into the fridge using a forced cold air system. In your earlier post you indicated that the fridge was OK, in the latter one you ask why the fridge seems warm. Assuming there is a temperature problem (both areas) I would suggest in the first instant you empty the appliance and leave the doors open for 48 hours to allow the internal ducting and the cooling coil (evaporator) to defrost. After this delay (don’t think leaving it for 8 hours will work it won’t) switch the unit on, set the temperature correctly and see what happens. If that doesn’t cure it then post again and I’ll take you further.

Sorry for confusion the freezer is fine but the fridge seems warm. I’ll try what you suggested and get back.

Hi
I too have the same problem with the APM 6855, fridge is warm but freezer OK. First happened after 18 months round about Xmas 06, turning off appliance for 48 hours did the job but it seems to be a recurring problem – it happened again 3 months later, the 2 months later and then again – if I carry on at this rate will be de-frosting it every month! – Also the freezer dept gets really iced up badly.
Must be something wrong?

Hi Squalshy
I did same as you a few weeks back and thought it was also solved, however old problem back, hence switched off and have taken f/f out of unit, there was signs of water on base of kitchen floor at rear of unit, not enought to make me panic, however there is still some in plastic dish at bottom of f/f and it is this I am trying to remove. Will leave f/f off for the 48 hours as advised however from what I have read it would appear this again may only be a short term fix and an engineer will be needed.
Am I overeacting or is this a poor quality product seems to be a well posted fault 😕 😕
Cheers
