Hi I`m new to this site.
I have a Hotpoint Aquarius washer/dryer (WD62). The motor stopped working and after inspection the brushes had gone so I replaced them…it still would not work…..called a local repair man out…he tested the motor with a meter and said it was ok so he thought the main timer module curcuit board was at fault…..fitted a brand new timer module but still the motor won`t run…….changed the motor but still no joy!!!!!! any ideas please???
Ps….the timer unit can be heard turning / going thru the cycles but the main motor refuses to run!

Check wiring between timer and motor carefully – breaks in the wiring are common at the motor end. Better still, use a test meter to check for continuity.

    Power off, of course.

Many thanks….wire loom from cct board to motor checked and tested…..2 wires broke off from 7 pin multi plug at motor end while examining!! ,,, re-terminated and now alls well,,,, motor runs!! Interesting my local `repairman` didn`t spot this and sold me a new timer module for £89 !!!! ,,, hope I can get my money back!
