ParticipantWe are trying to free up space & considering buying our first washer/dryer.
Have been considering either AEG L12830, Bosch WVT126 or Siemens WXD1260.
Does anyone have any advice or recommendations?

i am sure other posters will shoot me down but why dont you go for a hoover. they are less expensive to buy and maintain and come with a 5 year parts and labour guarantee.
the basic range are available as either 6kg wash/ 4kg dry or 5kg wash/ 5kg dry i have had a hoover washer dryer for years and it drys well 9not as well as a seperate tumble drier) but it does the job. its easy to fix and parts are readily available and reasonably priced.
and no hoover dont put any money in my pocket.i am waiting for the usual unhelpful comments.
they are still manufactured in wales.

And fall to pieces after 2 years. Previous poster is a long time Hoover agent. Quite how you maintain faith with a brand which has gone from British manufacture to an Italian one is rather beyond me…… It just ain’t the same anymore……….
The washer function remains the same; the dryer function is usually a disappointment to all owners. Any washer these days washes about 5kg – the problem is that the dryer wil only cope with half that at most. Compared with a tumble dryer, which usually does a fullload in around an hour, the washer dryer will dry half a load in about an hour and a half. Unbelievabley energy inefficient. On top of that, in this posters experience, heavy, dense fabrics – denim, courdrouy and the like, simply will not dry – you can finish the load with an iron, but that isn’t the point, is it?
If you absolutely have to get a combi, the Elecrolux group machines dryer works reasonably well – the condenser will need cleaning out regularly – beyond that, I wouldn’t give tuppence for the rest.
Find space for a dryer, please………

Because it’s a Candy and their washer dryers can I say, have never been that good. 😉

Really? I thought they only threw together some Candy bits there and stuck a Hoover badge on it.
In all honesty if there’s any way to avoid a washer dryer, avoid it.
