Hi, could anyone help with the following problem please:

My 1year 2week!! old dryer stopped working and displayed an error code F8.
Hotpoint advised this was a heater relay prob and would send an engineer for 90 quid!
I decided to replace the thermostat & cutout pair in the rear heater housing having read some postings on this site (they were both o/c).

Now: whatever program is selected the machine thinks about it for a few secs & then ‘clean filter’ light comes on, cool tumble light comes on, display drops time to 10 mins, drum turns for about 20 secs and then the display shows another error code F13.
I have found another thermostat/cutout?? in the front filter housing. This also measures o/c?? (markings are 43-05 6900)
Is this the offending item? Any ideas where I can get it from?
    Thanks,
    Tony.

Fault F08 does relate to the Static heater relay, can be faulty heater or PCB, sometimes bad connections but not likely. It is not caused by faulty rear stats or NTC.

F13 suggests the rear NTC is faulty, F03 is a front NTC fault. It all points to a possible main PCB failure.

The cost of these and the fact that there is more than one alternative, together with the need to either replace or reprogram the eeprom ( something that can only be done by the Indesit company) suggests tha taking advantage of your five year parts guarantee may be your best option.

    Jim.

PS, how are you testing the NTC’s ( not stats BTW)
Both front & rear NTC should read around 500kΩ at room temp.
