ParticipantMy 5 year old Bosch WFL 2450 has started vibrating, & has become very noisy, on high spin.
Is this symptomatic of bearing renewal being required?
& if so, is it straightforward enough on this model i.e. no special tools required.
Thanks in advance

Possibly…first of all check the filter unit for 5p pieces (common source of noise) then check the drum for play. With the door open see if the inner drum will lift up and down within the outer drum…if there is any appreciable play then you can confirm bearing failure by turning the drum by hand…you will either feel the rough bearings or will hear them grinding.

ok, so based on Clives tips its the bearings.
On this particular model, is renewal fairly straightforward?
i.e are any special tools required?
Is there anything else I should change whilst I’m in there?
Thanks in advance

You really don’t want to do this. I’m a professional, and I don’t want to do this job……..
Lid off, front off, motor off, hoses off, wires off, disconnect dampers at the bottom, remove tub. Cut off the lugs holding the two plastic halves together and after that it’s big hammer time.
You need bearing kit 172686, which includes screws to replace the snapped off locking lugs. spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will be able to supply the kit for you.
Stay safe, power off at all times.

……….and they don’t give you enough bolts :rolls: then you get it altogether to find you have forgotten to insert suspension leg mounts between the two halves of the tank before assembly 👿 😆
