    Hi,

    I wondered if you could point me in the direction of a suitable fridge freezer for my new house (or should I say “project” 😉 )?

    I’m after a free standing unit, no more than 1600mm tall (it will be located below a high-level window at 1550mm, so anything more than 1600mm will start to block out light).

    I would prefer to have more fridge space than freezer (70/30 or 60/40).

    There seems to be little choice at this size, so I’m prepared to sacrifice features such as ‘frost free’ if required – my main requirement is quality.

    Any advice would be much appreciated!

    What width of machine? As refrigeration comes in different widths.

    No wider than 600mm.

    A quick look through the A-Z of the most common suppliers reveals a couple which could tick most of the boxes.

    Bosch KGV24V00GB 155 high and 55 wide would probably be my first choice. Whirlpool ARC5070 160 high and 55 wide comes in second, the freezer may be a little to small for you.

    The only other ones I can find are the Lec T6066W and the Zanussi ZERB2825. However both are just over 1600mm.

    I had spotted the Bosch one myself and thought it looked suitable, but its reassuring to hear it reccommended by someone in-the-know. The 2yr manufacturer’s warranty is nice to have as well. In fact, I’ve gone with Bosch for my oven and hob too, so I’ll have the full set!

    Oven: Bosch HBN430561B
    Hob: Bosch PCD656MEU

    They seem like good quality, reliable units and the price point is what I had in mind. I haven’t placed an order… yet.

    Good choice of appliances. Black is slowing becoming more and more popular nowadays, goes well with stainless steel and chrome.

    They should prove to be good purchases.
