    Hi guys,

Congratulations on a great site. I was wondering if anyone could give me a hand with my Bosch fridge/freezer (KGV3120GB/01)?

The poor beast has been slowly loosing its chill in both the fridge and freezer the last few weeks. When it gets warmish, I turn the power off and then back on and the little beauty clicks into gear and starts cooling really well. However, this process has to be repeated every day as it will not remain cold.

I searched the forum site and it seems as if this is quite a well known “fault” in this fridge. The advice I gleaned was to order a part (number 491416) from Bosch, which by-passes a sensor (if I understand it correctly).

What I would love to know is 1) if this sounds like the correct thing to try out on my Bosch (I have already done a complete defrost and clean), and 2) How do I do it? If someone could post a step-by-step quick guide (for simpletons) as to how to do it (once I’ve ordered the part) because I haven’t been able to fully follow the advice given out on this forum, I would be most grateful.

Thanks for your time and advice.

    Hi
You are correct with your diagnosis 🙂 .
The p/no you mentioned does come with instructions but the info online on here is pretty followable for anyone with some technical know how, IMHO.
Un-plug appliance if you are to attempt yourself :plug: or please feel free to find an engineer below 😉

    Regards

    Hi gegsy,

Did what the instructions said and cranked the fridge up again. Waited until it had fully cooled and left it a while. Then opened the door and waited… and ta da! The old beast cranked itself up and started cooling. 😀

Thanks once again for your help and advice. Great website and top-dog posters/admins! :worthy:

    Cheers, Travis.

I’m off to grab a cool chunk of chocolate.
