this washer 1st started playing up when I moved house. It basically wouldnt powerup at all when first connected to mains but would come to life afer half an hour or so. It then worked ok for another few months till I moved again and the fun really began
Same no initial powerup which seemed to be solvable by leaving a live line connected at all times but now its started stopping mid wash and generating a range of different codes
other times when not in use it will start beeping
the cycle will start and the machine begin to fill but it will either stop with a code of 000010000 or just power down completely.
diag code if I got this right is 10000101
Sometimes it sounds like the cw solenoid is cycling, other times as if the motor is trying to start “clunk , clunk”
the circuit board shows some signs of corrosion and previous repairs but when I checked the continuity between suspect joints it seems ok
Its now dead again, ie no lights when reconnected to mains
Interestingly the local retailer has a veritable graveyard of dead specimens out the back which they dont seem to mind if I cannibalise
update, I’ve dug a bit deeper and found a dead fuse under the main
controller, would explain why its currently not starting but not previous outages. These arent some sort of thermal fuse which resets themseleves are they?? pic is here

The pic shows an ordinary circuit protection fuse – you can just see the markings for the rating on the end cap. You have to replace it – any electronics place will sell you a pack of 10 for a few pence.
The problem you describe is unlikely to be the board itself. Clunkings are likely to be motor related – I’d check for damaged/wet/corroded wiring at the turn of the drum and at the motor stator itself.
Interruptions can be caused by prolems with the lid switch – reed switch failing and dodgy wiring again.

thanks, looks like its a goner, plenty of evidence of rusty water all around pump and motor components.
Ill probably go for a front loader as we are not on town water, the cheaper Boschs look pretty good value, about the same price as the equivalent F&P or electrolux.
any opinions?btw are the parts worth anything to anyone, seems a shame to trash it when the motorcontroller and other swuitches are probably fine

Well, Bosch is popular over here. Not sure if the Oz Lux products are the same as the European ones. Simple rule of thumb generally is you gets what you pays for, so don’t go too cheap. Are F+P doing a front loader? Be interested in a link if they are.
