ParticipantWhen starting my diplomat 8902 dishwasher it goes through a cycle of draining water, fillling the reservoir, draining the water and so on repeating this cycle untill its stops after a couple of minutes.
When turning the power on the 2 far right neons flash until i select a program, it then starts this odd cycle until it stops leaving the far right neon on and the 3 far left neons flashing.
Can anyone advise on a fix or will i have to bin it!!

E7 – machine is looking for a flow meter which isn’t fitted. Reset required, proceed as follows:
Switch on and press the programme button 4 times, within 3 seconds. The 1st and 5th lamps should light…….. You may have to do this several times before it works! Assuming that it does, press programme button once, 1st neon should go out. Switch off, count to 10, switch on and run the rinse programme only.
Causes – have you had a power outage recently? This can throw the electronics. If the problem returns, I would suggest that you get professional help as there are some known issues with the soap dispenser and wiring loom.

Penguin45, you are a star 😉 I stumbled accross this thread looking for the same fault as nedster (lights 123 flashing and 5 on – or fault E7 as you say) except I have a Smeg DWI710E (Diplomats/Smeg same thing). The reset procedure wasn’t working initially so I spent a good hour spraying water up the transfer tube having read the sticky on the E2 error but to no avail so was searching for other inspiration when I found another thread which suggested not pausing for the too long after switching the machine on i.e. press the programme button 4 times immediately after pressing down the on button (as the on button is on its way up). If one of the programme lights ‘lights up’ before you finish all 4 presses you have to start again. It worked. Genius. You’ve just saved me a small fortune in potentially fruitless call outs! Oh and by the way, I did have a power outage recently….top man
