IW812 error 39 and error 40

    I have a F&P IW812. It fills up to the brim and report an error of 39. It happens often. Today, it is also showing a fault code of 40 during the spin cycle. It is looking like it has had it – and it is less than 4 years old.

    Am I in for a big bill?

    Two possibilities.

    1) The air hose which operates the water level control is damaged in some way. It may be pinched, trapped or holed. It is possible that the air pressure chamber is partially blocked. If you disconnect the hose, it is essential that you drain the machine entirely before reconnecting. If the hose is damaged, you’ll have to spend a couple of dollars in the hardware store for some plastic tubing.

    2) The level switch itself is faulty. This is integral with the computer board and yes, you’re looking at a big bill.

    Providing that the water does actually shut of eventually, the air hose/chamber is more likely to be the problem.

    I will first check out the 1st possibility

    I have the Parts manual (Manual 517751 May 2002). Can you pls let me know the part number of the air hose so that I can identify it.

    Air hose is item 16 – p/no 425299.

    Thanks Penguin45.

    It was the air hose. The thin blue wire inside the air hose was came off the the sensor on the controller board.

    I trimmed the end of the air hose slightly and to allow me to push the thin blue wire back inot the sensor.

    It works fine now.
