ParticipantGood afternoon Gents,
Just a quick question for you.
I’ve just installed my new WAE24162, luckily all i had to do was connect up the cold feed as the plumbing was already there from my old bosch WFL2260. The hot feed is now redundant.
In the instructions, as i’ve only got the standard model, and not the Aqua Stop, says “after use to turn off the cold feed at the tap”.
Is this really necessary as the service valve is installed behind the machine and my wife will never be able to get there and turn it off after every wash. If this is the case then i’ll need to replumb and make a tap accessible.
Or is this just a way of Bosch getting you to buy an Aqua Stop hose or do new washing machines require you to do this for safety reasons. Many thanks……………Trevor Day.
PS I hope my question makes sense.

All manufacturers make that same statement about turning off the taps whilst not in use. More often than not such an ideal situation is ever possible thanks to the stupid locations plumbers put stop-cocks. So if you can’t easily access yours then don’t be too concerned the risk factor is very very low statistically of problems occuring. 😉

Thanks Martin,
I’ve never heard of turning the tap off before. I looked through my old bosch manual and it didn’t say anything of the sort in there. It must be a new way of the manufacturers covering their arses…..Trev.

Zeeees is becos in Deutchland zer plumbinck is always accessable. Zey have vays of making plumbers do work correctly or else. 😈
However since their market has expanded to all parts of the globe, many countrries have different plumbing standards. Here in the UK our plumbing standards are still etched on Stonehenge. And as plumbers can only see the stones from a distance, often without their specs, they get it wrong!
The Germans (smart cookies) realise this so, as you say, “cover their arses…..” Who can blame them? :rolls:
