ParticipantWould it work to put the control card from a Bosch WFR2860 into a WFR2460. The spin speeds are not the same so what would happen.
If this would not work is it worth replacing with a brand new card as the machine is great, but about 6 yrs use. ThanksMay 27, 2007 at 9:05 am #215112gegsy

Hi
Same control module in both, however the module is a universal board and would have to be coded to the respective appliances 😉Greg

Hi
If you buy a new module the information comes with it. It can be tricky to follow and may result in damage if incorrectly coded.
Engineers time varies from around the country. Try the engineers link below to find a local one and a guide to cost 🙂Greg

Could we buy the part and fit and code it ourselves. I have emailed a whitegoods engineer too,

Hi
Yes you could if you have some basic skills in reading configuration sheets 😀Greg

As I have nothing to loose by it, is there a way to decode and recode the control board we have already in the non working machine. This was suggested in principle on this forum many months ago, but no one seemed to know the sequence to actually do it and as the machine still functioned, though not fully, we did not follow up the idea then.
Any suggestions ?!May 27, 2007 at 2:49 pm #215118gegsy

Hi
Yes the old board can be re configured however we are unable to provide that information due to legal limitations placed upon us by copyright, sorry.Greg

Is anyone allowed to tell me how to decode it only.
Also if the engineer did the decode and recode for me is it likely to sort out a minor programme glitch, and a possible major one? The machine has 2 faults at the moment.

Hi
I would IMHO get a Bosch familiar engineer to recode old PCB then concentrate on the faults which may disappear when coded correctly.
Not a straight forward fix Im sorry and Ive gone as far as I reasonably can.Greg

I really appreciate the info.
Best option is an engineer to recode old board and problem solved, but life is rarely so easy!!
Any idea VERY approximately how much that recoding would cost.I was told in the past that engineer and NEW board is at least £200, which is not cost effective, but this recoding idea may could give my lovely old machine a reprieve.

Hi
Cost will vary from engineer to engineer but a ball park insight would be either cost of call out/one hour labour plus additional labour if any other faults materialise thereafter.Greg
