    I’ve got a Samsung RS20CCSV f/f, 2 1/4 yrs old which has developed a fault.

The freezer temp was OK but the fridge was not cooling. The fan was running when the freezer door was closed and there was no excessive noise. Switching off and back on gave an error code of the bottom right most vertical segment on the freezer temperature display.

Having read some of the forum posts (mainly for the RS21) I removed the two covers in the freezer and found the condensor severly iced up. There was no ice behind the top cover and the fan rotates freely.

I guess that I need a new thermal fuse – could someone confirm this, please, and where it is? Many of the topics refer to replacing the evaporator cover – which of the two covers or both? If the cover does need replacing, why? Is it because the new cover has been modified, the cover includes other parts or is it a problem with resealing the old cover?

Some advice would be much appreciated.

    Thanks
    Andy

    Hi Andy

The most likely cause is either the defrost sensor or defrost heater, without the heater being tested the cheapest option would be to try the defrost sensor, the yellow wired one.

Thanks for your advice. I’ve ordered the sensor and will see if it solves the problem.
