sn. 601138730the machine is doing some weird things.
when switched on at the socket it immediately locks the door and the easy iron and extra rise light flash(LED 3+4),the machine then starts to fill and pump at the same time.The only way to stop this is by switch the power of at the socket.
i tried swapping the NTC ,no difference,all cables are ok,carbons are fine,pressure switch seems ok.
any ideas? PCB maybe?

Strangely enough I had a Hotpoint WF440 doing almost the same this afternoon. Switch to a wash programme, drain pump starts up, fill starts and machine will just sit there filling and draining, no error messages etc.
Try to cancel or switch it off and the water stops filling but the pump carries on running for several minutes even after the mains light has gone out.
Only two years old, advised customer to use her five year parts cover.

Jim in your case can be just one triac (pump triac or his thermistor) or damaged dump program from memory but on john’s case can be more… even processor itself.
John! verify also heater for earth leakage…
