ParticipantHi People,
we have an Ocean fridge Freezer (FFC 61/48) – and it started making really weird noises form it’s pump(?) which we already replaced a year ago, basically prompting us to look for a new fridge.I tried to figure out the capacity of my current fridge but the label says 1, 310 so I’m not sure that’s the right answer. The size is Hx174Wx58Dx63.
We need a recommendation for a new fridge freezer, ideally larger, and with the freezer at the bottom.
I read the guide on the site and am now totally “paranoid” and don’t know what to choose. I’m not looking to spend too much (£900 ideally) – but I want good realilablity and honest and decent support.
We recently bought a Miele dishwasher that was a huge step from the previous zannusi one, and they have great service. but we are open to suggestions.
In terms or requirements we always have a lot of fruit and veg and the current fridge constantly freezes the veg in the vegtable drawer.
Please share your thoughts,
Many thanks,

Hi
Looking at the model number of the Ocean I would guess that it maybe a 6.1cu ft fridge and 4cu ft freezer, Zanussi among others used to use this method a few years ago.
For al large fridge and frezer take a look at the Bosch range, good simple layout giving max storage space and a two year guarantee. Take a look at the KGV28V01GB or its wider relative the KGN39V00GB. The current range of Hotpoint machines give lots of little extras which to my mind are taking up valuable space but if you were to strip thgese out the appliances do give good storage. The RFA52P is a good basic machine or the FF187P is it`s larger partner.

ParticipantThanks for the info mate,
At the moment we are considering buy a John Lewis machine: JLFFW2005 at £449 it offers the biggest space and ratio we saw: 240L/ 109L
And with 5 years warranty (for £70) we think it’s a good solution and JL have good customer service, certainly better the comet, etcBut I am a bit worried about the quality but as far as I can tell that’s the best value for money at the moment,
please share your thoughts.
Thanks,

I know some of the J.Lewis stock is Zanussi built. Looking at the picture the design is similar to Liebherr.
The 5 year warranty at £70 seems a tad steep as you are only paying for an extra two years.

Hi,
So we got it yesterday,
The delivery people were very professional, took the old one out.So far we are happy, it’s bigger then the old one and more high-tech.
BTW
We asked the guy at the shop which make it was and he said it’s an Electrolux – I know they don’t have a great reputation but at £519 for 5 years we calculated it’s a bargain. Will update in the future if there are any problems
thanks!
