had a look at the machine (bearings gone) not worth repairing then the father comes in he says , you were fast i have only just got off the phone with a repair company, it turns out that i should have been 2 roads away at a house with the same address just a different postcode. my sat nav took me to his front door, dont the powers that be work in strange circumstance’s.stuart

Actually Stuart that has happened before to my old man.
Whilst being rather sizeable Zanussi agents one of the guys went to a house with was No. 22 Whatever Lane and repaired a dishwasher. When asked for policy details she said she had none and proceeded to pay for the repair quite happily.
Next day we get a call from a woman doing her nut in 22 Whatever Close telling us that we’re going to be on Watchdog and all the usual stuff as we hadn’t attended her appliance when we said we would. Funnily enough, another Zanussi.
Thankfully she was okay once the error was discovered, the engineer had simply misread the street sign and, to be fair, the lady did confess that they were not exactly the best.
This is one of the pitfalls in having a housing development filled with all the same machines. 😉

A few years ago my wife took a call from a retired parson who needed an urgent call to his oven.
She immediately got me on the mobile, could I attend?.
No problem I said, I am in a queue of traffic right outside his gate!.
Divine Intervention?

ParticipantYesterday , i went to a call in South Woodham Ferrers for a dented freezer door replacement . Customer name was Barratt . Typed the postcode/address into my Sat Nav and off i went – Arrived at the street to be confronted by a new build of flats , with the site being a Barratt site . Ha!!! Sorted . So , found the site office and asked which flat needed the new freezer door , only to be met with blank stares .
“No idea what you’re talking about mate ”
Rang the customers contact number and the customer…Mr Barratt…. promptly told me that he could see me from the window of his flat….10yds away in the building opposite . -
