Snooty Indesit engineer told a friend of mine that her washer [still under warranty] was really in bad shape due to hard water, he some what reluclantly fixed m/c & promptly told her to order this part & fit it or else [well more or less ,but he made her feel guilty], part#c00089789 it’s called Calblock & came in Merloni packaging & fits to the inlet valve or tap. Does it work ? Anybody else seen this?[no not snooty Indesit eng].

Had something similar when I did Whirlpool work.
    Didn’t sell, didn’t work.
I fitted them as normal fill hoses to get rid.

    Re: Calblock?

There was a thread a few weeks ago all about Indesit pushing these sorts of accessories onto customers quite forcefully so maybe it’s just another sales drive. You can bet that, if the engineers are being forced to sell something, especially if they don’t believe in it, that they wont’ be over the moon about it (no pun intended ;)).

Or maybe that’s how they’re getting a pay rise this year?

Who knows, who cares. The more of their customers they hack off on their own the better I say, let them get on with it.

(PS, anyone wanna buy some miracle dust… it really works.. honest guv’, only £20)
