ParticipantHi,
Is it possible to obtain a programer for this Hotpoint dishwasher with connection details, as these have possibly been corrupted.
Any advice would be greatfully appreciated.
Thanks

This machine has a standard, old type control timer, it does not really become ‘corrupted’. Occasionally contacts will burn out or the timer motor will fail, generally a very robust component.
It does also get removed and wires pulled off in error even when it is not faulty, I suppose you could call that corrupted. 😉
Also the timer is over £80 excluding VAT. Due to the age of the machine and the strong posibility that the timer may not be faulty it may be better if you gave us more precise details of the fault.

Hi Jim,
Thank you for your reply.
You are quite right, in that some of the wires did become disconected when I attempted to clean the contacts. Hence my request for connection details.
Prior to that the machine had been erratic, occasionally running smoothly through all its programs and sometimes stopping at random at different points in the cycle.
The machine has always given excellent results, despite latterly having to move the timer on a click manually. So I feel a replacment timer,(if correctly wired up ❗ ), would be worthwhile.
Once again I would appreciate your advice.
Thanks Miles

Although I am loath to write off machines that have given good service there are a number of reasons why I feel that you should not invest in a control timer for this machine.
1, The cost of a new timer will be over £100.00 when you add in delivery charges.
2, The new timer does not come with any wiring instructions and all such information is copyright protected, so we cannot advise you there.
3, Looking at the parts list for this machine reveals a large number of parts are already obsolete, the machine is almost 20 years old. So if the next part that fails is obsolete you have wasted rather a lot of money. 😥
4, There is a very strong posibility that the timer is not faulty. There are many other causes of the programme sticking that an engineer would check out before getting to the timer on this machine.
For a start, the wiring harness inside the door was a common cause of such faults, breaks in the wiring near the hinge to all the base components etc.
