ParticipantHi All,
I have replaced the evaporator cover supplied by yourselves (order 4177) on my hateful Samsung fridge/freezer. It was fine for maybe 6 weeks, but then the tell tale fan noise and warm fridge returned. I removed the cover which I am getting quite good at now, to find it was iced up again. I am at my wits end with it and am sorely tempted to scrap it and start again. Can you suggest my next course of action or can you suggest a reputable engineer in my area (Broadway WR127BD) that could fix it?
Many thanks,
Andy

Hi Bryan,
Thanks for the swift reply. I am sorry but I do not know how to check the defrost heater. What do I need to do?
Many thanks,
Andy

Bryan,
I have just read a few of the other topics. In holding down the the two top buttons the middle segment on the fridge side is lit, so I assume a defrosting problem. I am reasonable edept at pulling this thing to pieces so would I be able to replace the thermal fuse, defrost sensor and heater? I have had a look at the spares on your Samsung spares page and they all look familiar.
All of this makes sense as I seem to have to manually defrost the thing every 4 or 5 weeks.
Thanks,
Andy

Hi Andy
I have exactly the same problem as you, did you replace the defrost heater assembly and did this cure your problem?
Regards
John

Hi All
I received the heater/evaporator kit and installed it as instructed on Thursday last week. So far so good. Everything seems to be working okay. The job wasn’t too bad to do. I made sure that the thermal fuse went back in the same place as the old one. Thanks for your help and advice Bryan.
Fingers crossed.

Hi Andy
I did state that the new thermal fuse must be fitted in the same place as on the new unit, especcially if it wasnt the same place.

Hi Bryan,
My terminolgy I’m afraid. The old fuse which didn’t have as much ‘padding’ on it as the new one, was in the same position as the new one was on the new kit. I am confident that it has been fitted as directed.
Many thanks for your assistance.

Hi All,
Just to update. The fridge is still working fine. When I have defrosted it in the past it is usually warm in the top by now, but since I changed the heater, fuse & sensor everything appears to be well.
Harahhhhhhhhh!
Thanks Bryan
Andy
