    We are currently having same problems as many other postings have described with our fridge although the freezer seems fine. Filter warning light came on some time ago but water was still dispensing ok until last week. We then noticed fridge temperature flashing and rising to 5, tried turning mains off and on again but temperature then showed 17/18 (not flashing). We thought things were looking good when temp gradually got colder, but soon started to fluctuate between 4 and 21 and at some point the water started to flow again! (Mains fed water supply via filter)

    I have not had much luck today trying to get someone out to have a look – the only engineer I actually managed to speak to didn’t deal with american style fridge freezers but did suggest we turned off for 48hrs. Looking at other postings though this appears to be only a temporary measure.

    Also, tried holding down top two buttons and only light showing was bottom right line on fridge temp.

    I would very much appreciate some advice with this one.

    Hi Petal

    What part of the country are you ?,have you tried the repairs@ section.

    The problem you have will be the evaperator cover which will need to be replaced.

    Is the cover something we can fit ourselves?

    Hi Bryan,

    No not yet! Sent details to one of the engineers listed but as yet they have not come back to me. I had located a local engineer who may be able to help, but he was on holiday. I will probably try him when he is back. I can’t believe how many engineers I have phoned from the Yellow Pages who won’t touch american style fridge freezers – are they very hard work??
