All filters cleaned, a large white plastic tube like affair, which seems to act as a reservoir with an overflow pipe feeding into the powder tray (could be something to do with pressure?) has been thoroughly cleaned as have all pipes, tubes etc, that I can get off.

I am wondering whether either the element or brushes could be responsible for the no spin? I have managed to manually cycle the machine control to get it to spin, but it wont as part of the normal wash cycle.

The drum turns by hand very easily when the machine is off, could this be a brush issue or any other pointers would be appreciated?

    Many thanks in advance

Pair of these fit your machine:

They start out 1.5″ long and wear away over time. Also worth clearing out the pressure bell on the back of the drum whilst you’re in cleaning mode. Sludge collecting there can cause the water level system to think it’s full when it’s not, hence no spin.

Power off at all times, please.

Thanks Penguin, I opened the machine up, took the motor off and the brushes are in pretty good nick, I made myself a continuity tester put it on the two heater element terminals and nothing, so my irrelevant point is now…

If the heater is knackered would that stop the thing going into a spin cycle?

    Thanks in advance.

The little white air chamber (above the heater) with the small black hose attached to it will be blocked then I suspect. Whip it off and clean it and the black grommet attached to the drum. 😉
