I have a Candy frost free f/freezer about 1year old. It makes excessive noise, in the quiet of the night sounding like a small aircraft taking off. It is only occasionally, and briefly, silent. Likely to resemble a chainsaw on the simple act of opening the door. Highly necessary, given the purpose of the confounded machine. I am the second owner, the first having given up with the noise and banished it from the house. Any ideas??

    Re: noisy candy

    Hi,

There is a limit on the possibilities but here’s a list of probable causes…

Excessive ice build up causing fan noise as the fan hits ice

    Noisy compressor

    Gas noise

    Noisy/faulty fan motor

Other than that, not a lot left to cause a noise but if we had a model number we may know more on a specific problem relating to the model.

Could try a power off/ door open overnight defrost if it is Ice buildup contacting fan blades.
