Greetings. I have a dead Electra AWM 110B ECO washing machine. When turning the programming control it does very briefly open the solenoids in certains positions but that’s all.
I have checked the door interlock, level switch etc and all seem ok. The motor does not appear to have any external brushes so they are not easy to check.
The question is, would worn motor brushes prevent the machine from doing anything at all, is it possible to do a resistance check on them (without having to remove and dissmantle the motor) and are replacements available ??
The motor is NUOVA IBMEI TIPO C.P.I M2-16-158/AR 51
Many thanks….
Fairly classic computer failure symptoms. Door lock is timer function, the rest is through the PCB. There are three different boards fitted to this machine – fortunately the p/no is printed on the label on the board (the one that starts “546”).
An induction motor does not use carbon brushes. The one in this machine is almost totally reliable.
Thanks for that. I had my suspicions that it might be an induction motor.
Just been checking through the board and found some open circuit transistors.
Thanks again.
