😥 our hotpoint wd420p has stopped working and we need some idea if it’s a simple thing we can sort or do we need the profesionals, and if so how much could it possibly cost to get sorted?
when we turn on the machine and press the start button the door locked, wash and extra rinse lights remain on but nothing else happens! what could this mean???

hi, when you select the prog are you choosing the extra rinse? and are the lights on solid or flashing?

no – not choosing extra rinse – buttons are solid and not flashing

well it could be a number of things then, these machines are software driven, a fault like as simple as a motor wire broken can cause havoc, but could also be the whole motor failed, a heater problem or the main control board faulty, even a fault with the dryer system can affect the wash programme, i guess you have to weigh up the costs/value, if you choose to call hotpoint it will cost you a fixed £90 regardless of whats needed so may be your best option if you dont want to have to go buy a new machine
