ParticipantI am probably being a complete idiot here but this is the first electric oven I have had, I don’t even have a clue which functions are supposed to be for what!
This Delonghi ESM465ST electric oven was sold as having a ‘multi function fan’ fault. The only fan I can see is at the back of the oven and appears to work.
However, when the oven is set to a high temperature for a while, ‘smoke’ empties out from the oven when door is opened. I thought this could just be oil or something on the element, but there is nothing exposed. Possibly it is something else.
Please help!

Hi s_mit,
You’re problem with smoke is almost certainly (like 99.99999{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} chance) the result of a build up of oil and grease in the oven. Once in a blue moon have I ever seen or heard of another reason.
It’s so common a problem I recently fired up this article on how to clean an oven
I’m working on one detailing all the oven functions and what they do as well as what they are best used for as much as I can as that’s another common problem.

Thanks, I will try and clean oven again with products recomended. Only thing is so far the bottom of the oven seems coated with a layer of hard baked black……something……cleaning so far has not managed to shift!

It’s burnt oil and fat that’s dripped down over time I expect. 😉
If you’re really careful a paint scraper can work wonders, you need to watch you don’t chip the enamel. Brilliant for baking trays as well. 😉

Thanks for your advice, all greatfully received!
One last thing…..do you happen to know of somewhere I can download and instruction manual for this oven….I got one a while ago but lost it and can’t remember where I got it!
Thanks again

Hi Shaun,
The manuals for those De Longhi/Elba were going to allow us to make downloadable from here but as yet they’ve not given them to me. 🙁
However I made a start on a basic guide HERE that is generic but should give you an idea. So far the main three functions are covered.
