ParticipantThe BOSCH model no is SMS6012GB/20.
The machine was purchased in May 1996! The 3 problems are as follows:
1) In the last few days, i`ve noticed that although the detergent dispenser opens fully during the programme. The finish dishwasher powder that i put inside the dispenser, is still left inside and has gone hard/caked in. I get the impresssion that the powder must be getting wet before the dispenser opens. All the filers have been checked and cleaner but problem remains.
I always make sure the dispenser lid is always closed properly and is dry before i run the machine.
2) My machine has 6 programmes. But at the moment “normal 65” is always selected, the button looks like it is stuck. It won`t let me de-select it? I can press the other 5 programmes!
3) The machine has a dial. As the programme proceeds the dial slowly moves around, till it reaches a red dot whereby the programme ends. But sometimes the dial freezes during the programme i.e somewhere during the rinse cycle. So i sometimes come downstairs in the morning to find the programme has not finished. The machine makes a humming noise when it has frozen. I have to move the dial forward slightly with my hand in order for the programme to resume!
Strangely the machine tends to do this if i run it at say midnight before going to bed! But it never happens if i run it at say 10.30pm!
how reliable are bosch?

Hi
Ok No1 – Check to see if the seal that seals the flap to the dispenser is intact/ still there, IIRC it is inserted into the inner of the lid.No2 – Maybe a damged button frame p/no 087791 – £7.20 +VAT etc or selector unit p/no 095484 – £47.20 +VAT etc, an inspection will confirm.
No3 – Sounds like an aquastop problem, either faulty or a gunged up metering hose p/no 118994 – £7.20 +VAT etc. This runs from the water matrix tank on left to the sump. Its the S shaped 1″ diameter black hose.
You can remove and clean but you may find it easier just to replace.Wayne79 wrote:

How did you overcome your switch dilemma? I seem to have a similar fault.
