ntc are the thermistors, ie temp sensors, one in the wash heater or tub and one on the heater box, favourite is the wires to the thermistor on the heater box, they break , if all sensors and wiring are ok it could be the board 😯 😯

NTC stands for Negative Temperature Coefficient.
This means that the resistance of the thermistor reduces as the temperature increases.
A standard resistor increases the resistance as it gets hotter.
( compare with PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient).. Resistance rises as temperature increases.) Often used as start devices in fridge compressors.

If you set it to spin and the water starts filling then that is usually caused by a faulty main PCB. Sometimes the damage can be seen on the board.

on these ones, instead of the dial spinning to show a fault, it will run the fill valves & drain pump continually, god knows why, a real pain for the customer when its plugged in behind machine, even if you turn it off on the front it will switch back on & fill/empty untill unplugged, so it can still just be a thermistor fault

What the hell are these manufactures on eh?
I honestly think they are trying to be so damn clever they aint got a clue what there doing, after all, that’s all we need is a machine to wash clothes in.
God I wish I could go back 25 years and work on all that good old stuff.Richard

here here, bring back a mechanical timer that doesnt blow up in a shed, and a machine that will last 10 years, and scrap all the sub £200 machines and everyone would be happy, sellers, repairers and even customers

I think you need to exclude sellers from that list. :rolls:

Let’s say……….
Sell an £800 white box and make £100………
Sell a £400 white box and make £80………
Sell a £300 white box and make £45……….(maybe)
Punt out something nasty for £180……… make £25; £30?Obviously in a price driven market, you have to move lots of the nasty ones to maintain the profit margins and keep the share holders in the manner to which they have become accustomed.
God help us all.

but if a seller (not a shed but an indie prob) sold something that lasted (we all get them every day ‘bought an iron/toaster/kettle/micro from tesco/asda/comet lasted 6 months’) surely they would get the repeat sales on other items, it cant be long before customers realise that cheep wont last, or else we’re all doomed!

I begin to wonder if anyone anyone reads what I tap out. 😉
It’s dead simple to me, sell rubbish, get a rubbish name. Sell decent and you get trusted.
It’s not difficult.
You can have any level quality you want to have and sure, you can shave a bit here and there, but in the end it comes down to you get what you pay for. Pay a bit more, get a bit better.
Major retailers drive this by demanding price points are met. In effect driving prices down to hit a price, not a quality.
Far more valuable, IMO, is customer retention. Especially in a stagnant market.

Also (like one my today’s job) was EEprom… 😕
After removing and reading it was only 00 data inside trying to write program he didn’t respond at all… Changing with other piece and wrote programm 😛 is wor KING… :rolls:So if your NTC; wires and connectors from it are in good condition then last hope is EEprom.
