ParticipantI need to adjust the upper basket on my integrated dishwasher. There are two sets of wheels on the right hand side but only one set on the left hand side so I can’t just put the lower wheels in the runners as it will be lopsided. Should it have two sets each side or do you buy a second set of wheels?

Sounds like you’ve lost some over the years. Wheel is p/no 767410104 – spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will be able to supply as many as you need.

Thanks that’s really helpful. Are the wheels on one side removeable then? On the right hand side the bits with the lower wheels on are obviously made as part of the basket but on the left hand side there is no evidence of them?

Hi Misfit,
All the basket wheels are easily replaceable and are simply snap fit affairs
The diagram below shows the layout of the baskets for most all the Smeg and Diplomat dishwashers, including the basket wheels. If you like just send Dave the numbers for the relevant part/s that you need. You can see that the upper basket wheels do differ from the lower ones and that the wheel fixings are all the same from this.
Hope that helps

Hi, Thanks for the diagrams. I’m at work at the moment so can’t compare exactly, but if you look at the upper basket diagram you will see that there are two sets of wheels on one side and one set on the other. It’s not that the wheels need replacing, it’s just that to raise the basket so the arm underneath doesn’t keep hitting the plates on the bottom basket I need to use the lower set of wheels and there is only a lower set of wheels on the right hand side. If you slide the lower wheels into the bit where the wheels go it is fine on the right but I can’t see anywhere to fit the wheels on the left hand side to raise that side of the basket. Sorry if I’m being thick but getting more wheels won’t really help unless they come with something to fit the second set of wheels onto………am I making sense?! This is very frustrating..

Hi Misfit,
There should be four wheels on each side of the lower basket and two on each side of the upper basket, or four each side if it’s height adjustable.
On the upper basket these wheels slot into and run along a sort of metal bar with plastic clips at the front of them. Those bars in turn sit onto wheel assemblies that are fixed to the side of the dishwasher inner tub (the stainless steel interior) and they can also be replaced if required.
How it works is like this…

Hope that helps and makes it all clear as can be.

Thanks, I understand how it SHOULD work. However, on my top basket there is four wheels on the right but only two on the left and I can’t see how to add two more wheels to the left hand side as there doesn;t seem to be anything to put them on to…………wierd. If you look at your first diagram it only shows TWO wheels on the left hand side and FOUR on the right. How do I make it have four on each side. At the moment if I slide the lower set of wheels on the right hand side into the metal rail thingys I can’t then level it as there is not a second lower set of wheels on the left. I thought maybe it was a mistake and my machine was a ‘second’ but looking at the diagram that’s how they come. The difficult bit is finding out if there is some sort of assembly you can fit to the left side (and hence fit the wheels to it) to raise it. On the other hand, maybe my model does not support the adjustment and the second set of wheels on the right is just a red herring. Maybe other models come with four wheels on each side?

ParticipantActually, maybe I’m right. Reading your instructions it only says to raise the right hand side of the upper basket, not both sides. Maybe that’s how it works. Looks a bit odd but I’ll try it tonight! You’d think that would affect the quality of the wash though as the arm underneath the basket is then lopsided!

Yes, correct. Only only side of the top basket goes up a bit on that machine.
