    Hi there,

My Ignis ADL 348 (5 months old) decided to start beeping at me yesterday instead of washing, meaning that when I pressed to start the machine it began to start its process and then stopped abruptly about 2 mins in and began bleeping continuously.

I opened her up and removed both the fine mesh and wide mesh filters and found the hole the wide-mesh filter sits in is flooded with water. I checked the outside drain at the front of the house and found this to be blocked so unblocked it. I started the dishwasher again and it did push through the water sitting in the filter hole. Then I put it all back together and tried again and we’re back to bleeping and the hole being flooded (outside drain no longer blocked).

One thing I did find was a slighty rusty screw sitting in the bottom of the hole, but I can’t see where it has come from.

This is my first dishwasher and the ‘Instructions for Use’ have no trouble-shooting, are generic and would be more useful for wiping my… nose. Any advice would be very gratefully received. Thank you.

It’s just another Whirlpool. As with all beeping Whirlpools, count the pattern of the flashes (ie 1-2-3-4-pause-repeat) and report back.

Ok, I just counted 60 continuous bleeps all paced evenly with no pauses. At that point I switched it off because it was driving me nuts. Do I need to continue counting any further? Cheers

Looks like an NTC fault then.

In your honest opinion, have I bought the skoda of dishwashers? Seems less than impressive to me that a part should need replacing so early in its life, especially when its only done about 30 cycles (I just bought my second box of tablets, hence knowing).

Thanks very much for your troubleshooting help, it is appreciated.

Ok, good to know. It is still well within warranty so will have a cosy chat with Whirlpool. Thanks for all your help.

    Guys,

I watched/listened to my bleeps again. The light (not the sounds), has a pause after seven flashes – I’m wondering what this means in the world of Whirlpool?

    Cheers

Told you there was a pattern 😀 .

Seven flashes is the good old flow meter failure – it’s part of the water level control system.

Ok, convinced am going insane, I have six flashes now. Looked around the forum and apparently that means: “a defective flow meter, kinked fill hose, water tap off or low water pressure.”

So, if there was water before seems unlikely it would be a pressure issue which leaves flow meter and kinked fill hose. Do you agree?

I have a feeling this means I’m going to have to take out my built-in dishwasher… Why the hell Whirlpool don’t a) print this stuff in their brochure and b) at least put a diagram of the dishwasher’s guts in is beyond me.

Thanks for your patience guys. And, yeah, there’s a pattern 😉
