ParticipantI went to a Diplomat ADP8322 built in dishwasher to day, and the customer had sat on the door, now it wont shut properly. I am assuming it is the door hinges that are bent, and I have quoted and ordered some.
Has any one had the same problem? Will fitting new hinges cure the problem? Are they difficult to fit?
Thanks for any advise

Hi Graham
This DW is a Whirpool if it has a service no 85450015810. I have come across this problem before and I think you may find that the door and door hinges may be twisted beyond repair 😥 have another look at it particularly where the hinges sit onto the frame. Hinges are available (put Adp8322) onto Connects web site and the parts will come upMal

Usually just the pins that the hinges rest on are bent, remove door (springs and bands in side panels first, probably on the verge of breaking anyhow) and lift off the door. Use mole grips and bend the pins back so they are parrallel to the front of the dishwasher. IMO just changing hinges make no difference whatsoever.

Thanks for the replys
eastlmark, you were spot on with the bent pin suggestion. I straightened them and all is now fine. Only thing was, it took me 2 hours from start to finish.

There was once a woman with a D.W built in to her kitchen unit
She tripped over the dog and fell right in itShe landed on the door and bent the hinges
Her husband was shouting and complaining of her wingesCall the man, he said, so he can do a repair
And the dog? He kicked it in despairThe End
