ParticipantWell my Kyoto FF freezer purchased at Iceland, all of 3.5 years ago, has finally given up the ghost and the contents of the said freezer are distributed around the neighbours :rolls: .
First the fast freeze packed in some time ago leaving me with pools of water on the floor and today the red warning light has shone brightly whilst the contents were defrosting merrily .
Tomorrow I am going to have to seek out and purchase a new one.Why does it always happen at the weekend? :rolls:
I was told by one of your recommended repairers that the fast freeze problem wasn’t fixable so I am not even going to pursue the red light further.
So guys, I am looking for a reliable !!! upright FF white freezer with a minimum height of about 155cm and width of 60cm.
What do you think of John Lewis own brand and who actually makes them ?
Most of my kitchen appliances are Bosch but I’m not fussed about the brand as it will be sitting in the Utility room .I have an integrated small 3 drawer Bosch in the main kitchen for day to day stuff.
Thanks
Desperate Housewife

Thanks for your prompt response Simon. I have never had an Electrolux appliance. How would you rate them for reliability?

Hi Don. Yes we decided to go for the John Lewis own brand tall upright frost free freezer JLFZW1806 (£499) with 3 year warranty plus 2 extra years for £70. Quite frankly after all the hassle we have had with the Kyoto (by the way it’s started working again now…but it’s still going 👿 ) we wanted it to last at least 5 years with no more outlay. I think it is made by Electrolux (” with all the good bits taken fom other appliances”…what a sales pitch..I nearlyPMSL !. It’s coming Friday so the neighbours have my food in their freezer for a bit longer 😆
