Do not work on the appliance when plugged in. results could be fatal :zap: . Usually thermistors first from shop@.

is the evap thermistor the 1 in the fridge light unit
is there two thermistors in the freezer compartment (1 fridge 1 freezer)kwatt wrote:Hi carpman,
Usually it’s this one and also this one that will need replaced but there’s no cast iron guarantee that those will cure the problem. They do for mos though and do seem to be a common failure.

The ones Kwatt quotes are both in the freezer behind the back panel.
The one in the fridge which you was looking at never really goes wrong. If the freezer is ok the usual problem would be an ice build up behind the freezer back panel cutting off airflow from the fan to the fridge.
Check your freezer door seals to make sure they are sealing again the cabinet when closed.
First thing i would try is to turn appliance for 24 hours with doors open and let it all defrost.Ice can build up where you cant see it.
After that dry up any water and turn it back on.July 2, 2007 at 10:34 am #218231n9eav

Mine is doing the same. I defrosted the back of the freezer completely 1 weeks ago with a hairdryer. It worked great for 1 week and today, same problem, loads of ice all over the freezer fins and fridge warming up. It does not stay like that though, once the defrost kicks in it defrosts enough ice to circulate the air again.
I did have an E8 code come up on Sunday?? I think it’s a case of replacing the freezer thermister as already suggested in this post. But where does the other one go, the consenser one?
I can do the freezer one eay enough, but the condenser one is that just as easy?Or do i pay the £35 call out fee for the fridge man.
Don’t mean to hijack this post but I think we have similar issues.
